Leader-Believers

Motivated by God’s love to share Jesus’ love with friends.

Many of today’s committed next-generation Christians are hungry for the work of the Holy Spirit. It’s something I haven’t seen since the 1960’s or 70’s with the Jesus Movement.
— Pastor David Ingrassia

Who are the leader-believers?

In our experience, leader-believers have the following characteristics:

  • A passionate love for Jesus

  • A hunger for His Word

  • A bold empowerment of the Holy Spirit

Reaching out in love

Leader-believers are motivated by the love and grace they experience from the Lord. They have come to understand that God’s presence in this world is real and His Word is true. They are eager for their friends and networks to know that same love.

Hearts seeking the Lord

We've noticed the following about the hearts of leader-believers...

  • The Great Commission is in their hearts in an organic and loving way. They do not necessarily have a background in traditional evangelism training. Their focus is on building bridges of love, as well as the essence of the Gospel.

It's about the hearts they have for their friends who they recognize as being lost, and who are dealing with real-life issues that loom large. Some of these topics, particularly in adolescence, have to do with relationships, sex, depression, and life paths.

  • Beyond love is the truth. Today's youth are being taught a narrative in school and college that they inherently know is not correct. They are being taught history that's not true. They're being taught value systems that they instinctively know run counter to God's truth. Even if they can't pick a verse or chapter, the Spirit of God is telling them that it's not true.

They're hungry for the truth. And they're hungry for their friends to know the truth. They don't want their friends to live their lives informed by falsehoods.

  • The Bible is essential for establishing a solid foundation in the lives and motivations of leader-believers. Experiences are not enough. Disciples need deep roots, especially to flourish in our current culture. The next generations will not thrive without the depth of God’s Word.

What does MyWOS offer?

MyWOS is a network of next-generation leaders and their mentors coming together to make disciples and grow as disciples themselves. In community with other leader-believers, they strengthen their relationships to help form disciples among their friends.

Through the Holy Spirit, the church in unity can reach the world. Technology allows us to reinforce and encourage that unity. The Internet makes it possible to cut across time and space, and gain wisdom across generations and cultures.

We learn together, and
share insights and experiences

The distinctive of MyWOS is that what we do online serves to augment ministry we already do offline. It is not an online replacement for leader-believers who gather offline. Instead, it provides an additional platform to learn together, and to share insights and experiences. It’s about engaging in community as we walk God’s path.
